Memoire

One of the best moments in my life -- Strasbourg, France. My first internship in a french fashion magazine. I knew something would happen on that day! I was at work early as usual. "Bonjour, je m'appelle....", I turned back my head and you were standing there and smiling to me.... We talked and talked... "Quelle coïncidence, je suis comme toi, nous sommes les mêmes." Naturally, you became my very first male model for my fashion photoshoot. I still remembered the park we went to, the bench you sat on and the piano we played. La vie était belle, la vie était magnifique.

Ce poème me rappelle de toi.... Tu me manques tellement....

Il pleure dans mon coeur
Comme il pleut sur la ville;
Quelle est cette langueur
Qui pénètre mon coeur?

Ô bruit doux de la pluie
Par terre et sur les toits!
Pour un coeur qui s'ennuie,
Ô le chant de la pluie!

Il pleure sans raison
Dans ce coeur qui s'écoeure.
Quoi! nulle trahison? ....
Ce deuil est sans raison.

C'est bien la pire peine
De ne savoir pourquoi
Sans amour et sans haine
Mon coeur a tant de peine!

Carine Roitfeld

It is probably not news anymore! But just when we were wondering why Carine Roitfeld left French Vogue and what she would do next, she came back to the public with her all new biannual fashion book "CR" (her handwritten initials) that will be released in September!

The book focuses on the well-known talents as well as the emerging stars from photographers, writers, models to stylists. The CR fashion book will be published by Fashion Media Group LLC and the office will be based at The Standard hotel in New York's East Village. The book will also have an online component featuring content across fashion, art and culture. To my surprise, CR is an English publication. However, Carine Roitfeld said she would also want to publish certain articles in author's native language and with translation at the back.

From a model, a writer, a stylist, to the French Vogue Editor in Chief, finally she has her own fashion book! Carine Roitfeld always steps ahead of others, chasing after her dream. It's a woman with a clear goal of her life! Good luck to you, Roitfeld! (I will definitely get one when the book is out)

Around London

Lazy is not the excuse. Have been living in London for more than half a year now, I'm still not very familiar with the city. It's like that I never truly understand or see this city. I always comfort myself that was because of my crazy schedule and my OCD that I didn't get a chance to go out and explore the city. Excuse, of course. The urge of being a fashion student keep inciting me to pick up my camera and to go hunting. So here I was, on Carnaby street, London, trying to find some cool things! :)

The first stop is The Kooples!! I fell in love with this boutique when I studied abroad in France. Simple and elegant probably are the best description for its style! Chic is back to the street! Here is a lovely girl who works in the boutique: Scallop short with buckle black boots, classic but with a hint of rock. Best representative of the store itself!

The second stop is Lazy Oaf! It's a pop graphic, print focused illustration label. They sell a wide range or products, from graphic T-shirt, funky sweaters and hats to accessories and stationery. I really like their greeting cards, great humor!

The third stop is Play lounge! Nothing to do with fashion here. It is a design conscious toyshop both for adults and kids. This store reminds me of my college roommate + best friend! She will fall in love with it right away if she was here.

That is for today! I will keep working on the Cool hunting project and find more cool and interesting things around London!
